Jhajjar: Senior lawyer Devraj Chahar was murdered last night in Jhajjar. According to preliminary information, his throat was slit. His family took him to a private hospital at night, where doctors referred him to the PGI, but he died during treatment. Police arrived at the scene and have launched an investigation.
Lawyer Devraj was a resident of Silani village.
Devraj Chahar, a resident of Silani village, was currently living in the Mata Chungi area of Jhajjar city. He had been practicing in the Jhajjar court for several years. His murder came to light on Thursday morning when the Jhajjar Bar Association issued an order suspending work to its members.
Bar Association expressed anger
Jhajjar Bar Association President Deepak Goyal said he had received reports that his fellow lawyer, Devraj, had been murdered by slitting his throat. He described the incident as highly condemnable and demanded that the police administration expedite the investigation and arrest the accused immediately.
Judicial work suspended, lawyers mourn
The Bar Association has decided to suspend judicial work on Thursday in protest of this tragic incident. President Deepak Goyal has appealed to all lawyers to show solidarity. Police are currently investigating the motive behind the murder and are searching for the accused.
