Jalandhar Counter Intelligence caught notorious wanted drug smuggler, recovered 12.5 kg of heroin

Jalandhar: The counterintelligence wing of Punjab Police has apprehended an international drug smuggler in possession of approximately 12.5 kg of heroin. The detained individual, Amritpal Singh, also known as Fauji, was apprehended by the police in Kasel village, Tarn Taran. Singh is a native of the same village.

Counter Intelligence, Jalandhar busts a smuggling cartel with the arrest of Amritpal Singh @ Fauji, an army-deserter resident of village Kasel,Tarn Taran.  Counter Intelligence has  recovered 12.5 kg Heroin with Pakistan markings Fauji was wanted by J&K Police in a 38 Kg Heroin case. Cartel’s international links exposed, being led by Amritpal Sing Bath, a notorious smuggler operating from Dubai.  He said Punjab Police is committed to dismantle the drug networks and make our state drug-free as per the directions of Hon’ble CM Bhagwant Mann. 

Counter Intelligence Jalandhar officials said that Police teams had been actively searching for him. Acting on a tip-off, the accused was apprehended today, Sunday. The police will promptly produce before the accused  court and demand for remand, and investigate whether he was in contact with any drug smugglers from Pakistan.
