Notably, the main accused, Gurcharan Singh, has a criminal record with cases registered against him in Rajasthan and Punjab, including charges under the NDPS Act and Arms Act.

The SSP Khakh stated that the accused would be produced in court to seek police remand. “We are hopeful that further interrogation will lead to more arrests and help us uncover the larger drug network operating in the region,” he said.

This operation is part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking initiated by the Jalandhar Rural Police. The authorities have urged the public to report any information related to drug peddling to help combat the menace.
