Raids are currently underway at seven locations of MLA Arora since 6 a.m. Wednesday. According to ED sources, these raids are being conducted in connection with a case related to the alleged fraudulent transfer of government land acquired for the construction of National Highway 754A and a compensation scam.
Patwari recently released on bail
Patwari Navdeep Singh, whose house the ED team raided on Thursday morning, was previously posted in Dharamkot, Moga. A fraud case was registered against him at the Dharamkot police station on June 16, 2024.
The police arrested him at that time. Subsequently, the Revenue Department suspended him. Navdeep Singh is accused of fraud worth crores of rupees. After his arrest, he was lodged in Faridkot jail. He was released on bail on July 7, 2026.

Allegations of obtaining compensation through fraudulent transfer of government land
This entire case began with an FIR registered by the Punjab Police at the Dharamkot police station on June 16, 2024. The matter relates to government land in Adarman village in Moga district. It is alleged that during land acquisition for the construction of National Highway 754A, a fraudulent transfer was allegedly prepared in the revenue records. Based on this, compensation was obtained by showing government land as private land.
In this case, compensation of approximately ₹165,724 was issued to Dilkhush Kumari, a private beneficiary. Subsequent investigations revealed that the land in question belonged to the Punjab government. It is alleged that the revenue records were altered using the forged signature of the then Tehsildar. An investigation by the Forensic Science Lab in Mohali also found the signatures on the documents to be allegedly forged.
Discussion of seizure of mobile phones in Libada village
During the raid, ED teams examined documents, financial records, and digital evidence at the relevant premises. Mobile phones were also seized from Khanna’s residence in Libada village.
The investigating agency is investigating the alleged money trail and gathering information about the whereabouts of the compensation amount. However, the ED has not yet officially released any significant seizures of cash, gold, or other assets.

It is noteworthy that the AAP has re-nominated Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora as its candidate from Moga in its first candidate list released for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. Consequently, this ED action before the elections has created a stir in Punjab politics. All eyes are now on what important documents and evidence the ED finds during the searches and what further action the investigation takes.
