A new chapter in education is being written in Punjab, thanks to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s initiative. Under the “Education Revolution,” not only students but also teachers are receiving world-class training. Mann, himself the son of a teacher, believes, “Teaching is not a job, but a commitment to shaping the future.”
The state government has so far sent 234 principals and education officers to Singapore, where they received training on global education models. Additionally, 152 school heads received advanced leadership training at IIM Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, 144 primary teachers received specialized teaching training at the University of Turku, Finland. The next batch will also depart this month.
The direct impact of these international programs is being felt in Punjab’s classrooms. Teachers are now teaching children through dialogue-based learning, technological tools, and interactive methods. This has made education interesting and inspiring.
To relieve teachers of administrative burdens, the government has appointed 1,920 campus managers. This has allowed teachers to fully focus on teaching.
Punjab is now becoming a symbol not just of education reform, but of educational leadership—where every teacher is a beacon of knowledge and every student a ray of hope for the future.
