An encounter broke out between police and a gangster from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning near Sampla on Meerut Road in Rohtak. The CIA First team arrested the shooter from the Himanshu Bhau gang after six rounds of firing.
The shooter, Mohan, a resident of Gaddi village in Baghpat district, was shot in both legs. CIA First ASI Vinod narrowly escaped death due to his bulletproof jacket. The injured man has been admitted to the Public Health Institute of India (PGI).
CIA First In-Charge Inspector Kuldeep Kadian stated that during patrolling, information was received that Mohan, a shooter from the Bhau gang, was waiting for his associates on Meerut Road near Sampal.
Police immediately surrounded him and asked him to surrender. Despite warnings, the accused fired four rounds at the police. One bullet hit the bulletproof jacket of CIA team ASI Vinod.
Police fired in self-defense, and the shooter was shot in both legs and fell. Upon subduing him and searching him, weapons were recovered. He was taken to the PGI in an injured condition, where he is undergoing treatment.
