Tarn Taran (Punjab): Police arrested a wanted individual following a late-night encounter. According to reports, around midnight, the Tarn Taran City Police and CIA Staff received confidential information indicating that Jugraj Singh, alias Jaja, son of Bakshish Singh and a resident of Muradpura, was roaming the area. Jugraj is wanted in several criminal cases.
Upon receiving the information, Inspector Prabhjit Singh, in charge of the CIA Staff, and Inspector Harpreet Singh, head of Tarn Taran City Police, swiftly cordoned off the area and set up a special blockade. When the police signalled Jugraj Singh, who was riding a motorcycle on Rohi Road, to stop, he opened fire on the police party. In response, the police returned fire, resulting in a bullet hitting his leg, which caused him to fall and get injured. The police then arrested him.
SSP Abhimanyu, who arrived at the scene, stated that the police had been searching for this individual for a long time, as he was wanted in multiple serious cases, including intentional murder. During the arrest, police recovered 1 motorcycle, 1 pistol, and several cartridges from him. The accused also has connections with various gangsters, on behalf of whom he used to demand ransom.
