Mumbai: In a tragic incident, Actor Govinda got injured after he shot himself accidentally while cleaning his revolver.
Bollywood actor Govinda sustained injury after being shot in the leg. He was shot with his own pistol reportedly. The incident happened on Tuesday early morning at around 4.45 am.
60-year-old actor Govinda was shot in a misfire while cleaning his licensed revolver. Mumbai Police reached the spot and seized his revolver and investigation into the case has been started. Senior police officer Paramjit Singh Dahiya has said that the gun from which the bullet hit is a licensed gun.
According to the information, a lot of blood was lost from his leg due to the bullet injury. He has been admitted to Criti Care Hospital in Andheri for treatment. According to sources associated with the hospital, after initial treatment, Govinda is now out of danger. His wife Sunita is currently present with him in the hospital.
Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has told that he was going to Kolkata for a program. The flight was at 6 o’clock. While keeping the pistol in the cupboard, there was a misfire and the bullet hit him below the knee. He was immediately taken to the hospital in Andheri. The bullet has been removed. His condition is out of danger. There is nothing to panic.
Govinda, who has been a part of films like Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Raja Babu, Chhote Sarkar, Had Kar Di Aapne, has been away from films for the last 5 years. His last released film is Rangeela Raja of 2019.
