Social media influencer and rapper DDG has announced his breakup with actress Halle Bailey after nearly two years together. On Thursday, he shared a statement via his Instagram Stories, explaining the decision to his fans.
“Dear friends and supporters, after much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision wasn’t easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we spent together and the love we shared,” he wrote.
DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., emphasized that despite the end of their romantic relationship, their love for one another remains strong. “Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other,” he stated.
The couple, who started dating in early 2022, welcomed their son, Halo, last year. DDG mentioned that he and Bailey, 24, will now concentrate on their individual journeys and their responsibilities as co-parents. “We will focus on our journeys and our roles as co-parents. We cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared,” he added.
He also requested fans to be “understanding and supportive,” expressing gratitude for their love and encouragement. As of now, Halle Bailey has not released a statement regarding the breakup but recently shared photos with her brother on Instagram to wish him a happy birthday.
