Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have introduced their daughter, born on September 8, 2024, sharing her name on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Deepika revealed the name “Dua Padukone Singh” in an Instagram post featuring pictures of their daughter’s feet, explaining that “Dua” means ‘a prayer’ as she is the fulfillment of their prayers. She expressed her gratitude, saying, “Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude. – Deepika and Ranveer.”
The couple began dating during the filming of ‘Ram Leela’ and tied the knot in 2018 in Lake Como, Italy, where they held two wedding ceremonies—one in South Indian style and the other in Sindhi tradition. They later shared their wedding video on ‘Koffee With Karan’, featuring unseen moments from their wedding day.
After six years of marriage, Deepika gave birth in November 2024, following a hospital admission on November 7.
On the work front, Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Singham Again’ premiered in theaters on November 1, where he reprises his role as Simba, assisting Singham in his battle against the villain Arjun Kapoor. Deepika makes a brief appearance in the film as Shakti Shetty, with her catchphrase “Main Singham nahi, Lady Singham Hai” already gaining popularity. Notably, Ranveer mentioned in a press conference that their daughter has made her debut, as Deepika filmed for ‘Singham Again’ while pregnant.
Prior to this, Deepika appeared in ‘Kalki’ and ‘Fighter’. While ‘Kalki’ performed reasonably well, ‘Fighter’ did not meet expectations. Although it’s not officially confirmed, reports suggest Deepika may next be seen in the film ‘The Intern’.
