Mumbai: Deepika Padukone often talks openly about her health issues. Recently, Deepika revealed that she always kept her therapy sessions private so that the media does not pay any attention to it.

Talking to The CEO Magazine, Deepika Padukone said, ‘I was at the peak of my career. Everything was going well. But one morning in 2014, while working, I suddenly fainted and a few days later I realized that I was depressed. I did not even tell anyone about this. I used to live alone in Mumbai, but did not share it with anyone. When Mummy came to Mumbai and left after a few days, I felt like crying. I felt bad the whole day, I had lost the will to live.’

According to Deepika, when she realized that she was suffering from depression and anxiety, she consulted a therapist. Deepika said, “But I did not want anyone to know that I was going to a therapist. I was very private and did not want to tell anyone how I was feeling. But when I started recovering, I realized that there is an embarrassment about mental health among people. After this I raised my voice on this subject. Then I realized why I had suppressed it till now.’

‘Live Love Laugh’ Foundation was started

According to Deepika, after some time she decided that she would talk openly about this. The actress shared her journey during depression with the world on a big platform. After coming out of depression, Deepika started the ‘Live Love Laugh’ Foundation, which aims to help those who are struggling with mental illness.
