Kriti Sanon, Katrina flaunt their love for sarees

Actors Katrina Kaif and Kriti Sanon recently graced the Navratri celebrations in Kochi, showcasing their timeless elegance in beautiful sarees. Kriti chose a stunning ensemble by Tarun Tahiliani, featuring intricate aari and zardozi embroidery on hand-painted fabric, enhanced with sequins, kundan, and crystals. She paired the saree with a matching blouse and completed her look with a choker necklace and a pink bindi.

On Saturday, Kriti shared images of herself in the saree on Instagram, captioning the post, “This Heer loves her sarees.” Katrina also posted a few pictures, expressing her fondness for sarees. Notably, she wore a saree from Tarun Tahiliani as well, which featured tassel detailing on the sleeve hemlines and was paired with a coordinating blouse. She captioned her post with “Shubh Navratri.”

Katrina attended the Navratri celebrations hosted by the Kalyanaram family, owners of Kalyan Jewellers, on Friday. Other celebrities present at the event included Ajay Devgn, Naga Chaitanya, Rashmika Mandanna, and Saif Ali Khan, all dressed in traditional attire. Ajay wore a light pink kurta with subtle embroidery, while Saif Khan looked regal in a pleated dhoti paired with a blue kurta.

Navratri, which translates to ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, is a festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine forms, known as Navdurga. Hindus celebrate four Navratris each year, but only two—Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri—are widely observed, aligning with the seasonal changes. In India, the festival is celebrated in various ways; for instance, in North India, particularly in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, the Ramlila, a dramatic portrayal of scenes from the Ramayana, is performed. The festival culminates in Vijayadashami, marked by the burning of effigies of King Ravana.
