Mind-bending trailer for Suzhal-The Vortex Season 2 released

Chennai: The creators of “Suzhal – The Vortex” Season 2, directed by Bramma and Sarjun, have unveiled a new trailer for the highly anticipated web series, much to the excitement of fans and film enthusiasts. The second season is set to premiere on Prime Video on February 28.

Written and created by the innovative duo Pushkar and Gayatri, this upcoming season brings back lead actors Kathir and Aishwarya Rajesh, along with a talented ensemble cast including Lal, Saravanan, Gouri Kishan, Samyuktha Vishwanathan, Monisha Blessy, Rini, Shrisha, Abhirami Bose, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, and Ashwini Nambiar. Manjima Mohan and Kayal Chandran will make special appearances this season.

Set during the annual Ashtakaali festival in the fictional village of Kaalipattanam, Season 2 begins with the shocking murder of veteran activist and lawyer Chellappa (played by Lal), creating turmoil within the village and beyond. As Sakkarai (Kathir) embarks on the quest to uncover the truth behind the crime, Nandini (Aishwarya) grapples with her haunting past and an uncertain future in prison. The investigation becomes complicated as eight unconnected women emerge as key suspects, leading Sakkarai through a labyrinth of deceit, conspiracy, and tragedy.

“Following the outstanding response to the first season, we aimed high to ensure that the second season is even more engaging,” remarked directors Bramma and Sarjun KM. “Pushkar and Gayatri have penned an even more riveting story, which we have passionately brought to life. With Kathir and Aishwarya’s captivating performances bolstered by a stellar cast, our role as directors became easier. We can’t wait for audiences to dive back into the world of ‘Suzhal – The Vortex’ and believe they will find the second season exceptionally compelling.”

Kathir expressed his excitement about returning as Sub-Inspector Sakkarai, calling it a groundbreaking series that elevated Tamil storytelling on a global scale. He reflected on the overwhelming positive feedback from both viewers and critics regarding his prior performance, hoping that Season 2 would receive equal, if not greater, appreciation.

Aishwarya Rajesh shared her fondness for “Suzhal – The Vortex,” describing it as a rewarding project. She recalled the intense journey of her character Nandini, who faced suppressed memories and avenged a heinous crime. In Season 2, Nandini remains haunted by nightmares as she confronts another intricate murder mystery. Aishwarya promised viewers that while Season 1 was thrilling, the unpredictability of Season 2 would captivate them even more when it releases on Prime Video in over 240 countries.
