'Phineas and Ferb' revival confirmed for summer release

Washington [US]: The highly anticipated return of the animated musical-comedy series Phineas and Ferb is just around the corner! Co-creators Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh announced that new episodes will premiere this summer on both Disney Channel and Disney+.

This upcoming season is set to deliver fresh adventures for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the inventive stepbrothers’ return. “Since Phineas and Ferb celebrates summer vacation, it’s the ideal time to launch the new season,” the executive producers stated in a Variety interview. They expressed their excitement about re-entering this world, noting that the cast and crew have truly excelled, and they can’t wait to see how fans react to what they believe will be their best season yet.

In 2023, Disney Branded Television revealed the revival, which will consist of 40 episodes divided into two seasons. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, shared her enthusiasm for the show’s comeback, highlighting that few series embody fun and creativity like Phineas and Ferb. She emphasized that the show resonates with generations of families and reflects Disney’s commitment to joyful storytelling. With Dan and Swampy back, she anticipates even more excitement and heart in the new season.

Variety confirmed in October 2024 that the original voice cast will return. Vincent Martella will reprise his role as Phineas Flynn, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, and Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher. Dee Bradley Baker will return as Perry the Platypus, and Alyson Stoner will voice Isabella Garcia-Shapiro. Additionally, Povenmire will voice the iconic Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, while Marsh will voice Major Francis Monogram.

Originally launched in 2007, Phineas and Ferb gained a massive following among both kids and adults, airing 126 episodes, five one-hour specials, a musical, and two movies before concluding in 2015 after four seasons. According to Disney, the new season will follow Phineas and Ferb as they embark on another 104 days of summer. As reported by Deadline, Candace is more determined than ever to catch her brothers in the act, while Perry the Platypus continues his secret life as Agent P, working to thwart Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s ongoing schemes to take over the Tri-State area.
