‘The best part of me is yet to come’, says comedian Sunil Grover

Mumbai: Actor and comedian Sunil Grover was recently seen in the movie ‘Blackout’. He is seen as Asgar Don in the movie released on June 7, 2024. Besides his comic image, he has shown a different form of himself in the movie.

‘Blackout’ is an action, comedy, and thriller movie directed by Devang Shashin Bhavsar and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Niraj Kothari. The stars seen in the movie are Vikrant Massey and many others.

In an interview, Sunil Grover was asked about how he got the script. He answered, “I received a phone call from Neeraj Kothari. He said that film writers Abbas and Husain Dalal wanted to tell me something. When I went to meet them, Abbas and Husain were accompanied by Devang, who also wrote the story. I agreed to work on the movie. There is a lot of suspense in the movie, and some of it is also in my character. I want all of them to watch the movie they haven’t seen yet. I was feeling good when I read the script, and I also received feedback from people praising my skills.”

About his projects, he said, “From next month, I am going to shoot a web series. And also a film along with it, which I will be shooting in July.”

After 2013, he was seen in a single show for many years. The reason he gave is, “For 5–6 years, I was indulged in the Kapil Sharma Show, and I was not having time to do other projects. But somehow I managed to work in movies as well. After getting the script, when I read it and feel good about it, I manage my time for it. If I get five good projects in a year, then I will do them all.”

On the issue of having the tag ‘comic ‘actor’, he said, “It’s not about genre. It’s about a good script. I am willing to do any genre. For example there is a comedy script, whose script is really good and other genre whose script is average, then of course I will go for comedy ones”.
