In a tragic accident, Wednesday morning turned disastrous for a family from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh that was travelling to Kashmir for a vacation. At around 4 a.m., a Tempo Traveller carrying passengers collided with a Hydra vehicle that was turning on the Ambala-Jagadhri Highway near the Cantonment Rampur turn in Ambala city, Haryana.
The impact was so severe that the Tempo Traveller was completely mangled. Ten members of the same family, including women and children, sustained serious injuries in the accident. The crash triggered panic and cries for help on the highway.
Family Was Heading to Kashmir for Summer Vacation
According to information received, all the injured are residents of Peer Wali Gali in Saharanpur. The family had hired a Tempo Traveller and was travelling to Kashmir to spend their summer holidays. As their vehicle reached near the Rampur turn on the Ambala-Jagadhri Highway in the early hours of Wednesday, it crashed into a Hydra vehicle ahead.
Passersby and Police Rescue the Injured
Passersby and police personnel worked hard to pull the injured passengers out of the damaged vehicle and rushed them to a nearby hospital. Those seriously injured include men, women and children.
The injured have been identified as Abdul Wahid, Jahangir Alam, Gulfam, Salman, Avdot, Samat, Misba, Gulafshan and Uzma, along with 10-year-old Mahima.
Three Referred to Higher Medical Centre
Among the injured, three people, including the young girl, have been referred to another medical facility for advanced treatment due to the seriousness of their injuries.
