Faridabad: A 13-year-old boy died after allegedly being stabbed in the chest by his 15-year-old friend following a scuffle while the two were playing in Faridabad’s Sector-56. The incident took place on Sunday evening in the Ashiana Flats area.
According to the family, the victim, identified as Kannu, was playing outside his home in Block 14 with his one-year-old sister when the 15-year-old boy from Block 13 arrived. The two boys began playing together, but a dispute broke out during the game.
Boy Stabbed in Chest During Scuffle
According to the family, the argument escalated into a scuffle. During the altercation, the 15-year-old allegedly stabbed Kannu in the chest with a knife before fleeing the spot.
The family said the two boys knew each other and the accused often came to the area to play. They also said both boys were studying in the third grade.
The stabbing left Kannu critically injured. His family rushed him to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Neighbours Alert Family After Attack
Kannu’s uncle, Iqbal, said neighbours informed the family about the incident over the phone. He rushed to the spot from Block 7 and found Kannu injured.
The boy was taken to hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Kannu lived with his family in Block 14 of the Ashiana Flats in Sector-56. His father, Yamin, originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, works as a scrap collector. The family had moved to the Ashiana Flats around five years ago.
Kannu had an elder brother, Aamir, whose wedding is scheduled to take place after Diwali, and a younger sister who is around one year old.
Police Begin Investigation
Keval Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector-58, said the police had received a complaint from the family.
The SHO said the child died after being stabbed in the chest and that a post-mortem examination was being conducted. Further action in the case will be taken after the post-mortem, police said.
The exact circumstances surrounding the altercation and the subsequent stabbing are being investigated.
