Faridabad: Police have busted an alleged illegal liquor manufacturing operation being run in the forest area of Anangpur village in Faridabad district. Acting on a tip-off, teams from Crime Branch Badkhal, Crime Branch Sector-30 and the Excise Department conducted a joint raid at the site.
As soon as the police and Excise Department teams reached the location, the people present there fled. Two accused managed to escape despite a search of the surrounding area.
800 Litres of Spurious Liquor Destroyed
During the raid, the teams recovered around 800 litres of ready-made, allegedly spurious liquor, which was destroyed at the spot. Materials used for manufacturing the liquor, including ingredients and other equipment, were also found and taken into custody.
Crime Branch Badkhal In-charge Anil Chhillar said the police had received information that liquor was being illegally manufactured in the Anangpur forest. According to the information received by police, materials including urea, jaggery, tree bark and other substances were being used in the process.
Illegal Liquor Unit Operating Secretly in Forest
The investigation found that the alleged liquor manufacturing operation was being run covertly in a secluded part of the forest. A liquor still and other equipment used in the illegal activity were also found at the site.
Police are now investigating where the allegedly illicit liquor was intended to be supplied and identifying others who may be involved in the operation.
Police Search for Two Absconding Accused
Following the raid, police and Excise Department teams searched the surrounding area for the two accused, but they could not be traced. Officials are examining available evidence and conducting inquiries to identify the absconding suspects.
Police said action against illegal liquor manufacturing and supply would continue.
Important: The line in your opening — “police spotted the two newborn babies” — does not appear anywhere in the detailed matter you provided. I would remove it, unless you have a separate verified detail about newborn babies. It looks like an unrelated/incorrect line.
