Punjab: In a major step towards modernization and digital transformation, the Department of Posts has established the Punjab West region’s first ‘N-Gen Post Office’ at the campus of Lovely Professional University in Kapurthala.
The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by LPU Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rashmi Mittal, who lauded the initiative and highlighted its importance in strengthening last-mile connectivity. She expressed confidence that the N-Gen post office would serve as a model for future postal services in the country.
Focus on Digital Transformation and Youth Engagement
Speaking at the event, Dr. Praveen Kumar Saraswat, Director of Postal Services (IPoS), Punjab West Region, Chandigarh, said the department is actively transforming its services to be more technology-driven, efficient, and customer-centric. He added that the initiative is particularly aimed at attracting youth and students, marking a significant step towards making India Post a digitally empowered organization.
Modern Services Under One Roof
According to Vikas Sharma, the newly established facility will offer a wide range of services, including postal, banking, financial, and digital solutions. Students, faculty, and nearby residents will benefit from features such as e-commerce parcel handling, digital transactions, and other advanced services.
The post office is equipped with modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technology, ensuring faster and more efficient service delivery.
Postal Department officials, LPU staff, and a large number of students attended the inauguration ceremony, praising the initiative as a significant move towards improved public service delivery and digital inclusion.
