Five Killed, 21 Injured in Truck-Pickup Collision on Maharashtra's Samruddhi Expressway

Amravati: Five people were killed and 21 others sustained injuries after a truck crashed into a Bolero pickup van on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra’s Amravati district, police said on Friday.

The accident took place around 12.45 am near Channel 97 of the Samruddhi Expressway, close to Dhamangaon Railway.

According to a senior police official, the truck rammed into the pickup van from behind, resulting in the deaths of five occupants and leaving 21 others injured.

Following the collision, the injured were rushed to Dhamangaon Rural Hospital for initial treatment. They were later referred to Wardha Medical College for further medical care, another police official said.

Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
