3 travel agents of Chandigarh booked on fraud charge, issued fake Visa letters

Following a complaint by Anand Singh, an employee of VFS Global located at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station, Connaught Place in Chandigarh, the police station EOW (Economic Offenses Wing) has registered a case of cheating and forgery against 3 Chandigarh-based travel agents. The case has been registered under sections 318 (4), 338, 336 (3), 340 (2) BNS of the IPC.

In a complaint to the police, complainant Anand Singh has alleged that these travel agents from Chandigarh cheated many people in the name of sending them abroad. According to his complaint, these agents misled people through fake documents and false promises.

Accused travel agents have been identified as follows:

1. Kamal Kumar: He runs a travel agency in Sector-40C, Chandigarh.

2. Anas Khan: Owner of Bishop Immigration, whose office is located at SCO 77, 1st Floor, Sector-40C/40B, Chandigarh.

3. Jaspreet Kaur: Operator of Veracity Overseas, whose office is located at 1st Floor, Piccadilly Square Mall, Chandigarh.

According to the complaint, these agents used to prepare fake documents and charge huge sums from people in the name of sending them abroad. However, despite promising to help in the visa process, these agents failed to provide the desired services to their clients.

Given the gravity of the case, the police have started collecting all relevant documents and evidence. EOW officials are questioning the accused and the activities of their offices are being thoroughly investigated. Police officials say that the case may be linked to fraud and forgery on a larger scale, in which travel agents from other states may also be involved.
