Jalandhar Commissionerate Police busts terror module, arrest 5 recovered 18 Weapons, 66 cartridges & 1.1 Kg Heroin 

Jalandhar: In a major breakthrough, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police busts an inter-state illegal gun supply module after a 2 week operation.  Jalandhar City police has arrests 17 persons and recovers 18 Weapons, 66 cartridges & 1.1 Kg Heroin. 

Arrested accused were involved in multiple heinous crimes and many other criminal activities in many districts of Punjab. Arrested accused were also providing logistical assistance and supplying weapons to gangs in Punjab and Haryana.
Punjab Police DGP share the information on his social media handle X and said Punjab police
is fully committed to knock-down the organized crime nexus as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. 

The arrested accused have been identified as Happy son of Vikram, resident of Dana Mandi Jalandhar, Mehakpreet Singh alias Sukhwinder Singh resident of Kabir Vihar, Basti Bala Khel, Vishwajit Singh son of Patnam Singh resident of New Aman Nagar, Rohan son of Premlal resident near Chaman Lal Chakki and Karandeep Singh son of Palwinder Singh resident of village Wadala Kalan (Kapurthala). In all three cases, the police has registered a case under the Arms Act and started action.

According to the information, the accused Happy has been arrested by the city police near Workshop Chowk. Based on the information, the police recovered an illegal pistol and 3 live cartridges from Happy who was arrested. The police will soon present the accused in the court and take him on remand and inquire as to where the said accused brought the weapon from and what he was supposed to do with it.

On the basis of secret information, police arrested 3 accused on Saturday from near Baba Budha Ji bridge in the area of ​​Thana Basti Bawa Khel. ASI Balwinder Singh’s team arrested accused Mehakpreet Singh, Vishwajeet Singh and Rohan. Police recovered 2 pistols of 32 bore and 6 live cartridges from the accused. Soon the police will present the accused in the court and take them on remand.

Similarly, on Saturday, police arrested Karandeep Singh resident Kapurthala. The accused has been arrested by the police of Thana Division Number-5. An illegal pistol (32 bore) and 1 live cartridge have been recovered from the arrested accused. Soon the police will present the accused in the court and take them on remand.
