Pandya Praises Tilak
After the match, Pandya said that this innings came at the right time and was crucial for the team.
“With the talent Tilak possesses, he doesn’t need much advice. Now was the time for him to come out and perform. It was important for everyone—the team, Tilak, and Mumbai Indians,” he said.
Naman Dheer also steadied the team with a crucial 45-run knock.
Excellent performance by the bowlers
Defending the target, Mumbai Indians’ bowlers performed brilliantly. Jasprit Bumrah took a wicket on the very first ball, while Pandya dismissed Jos Buttler early.
Ashwani Kumar bowled brilliantly with figures of 4/24, while Mitchell Santner and Allah Ghazanfar took two wickets each to completely dismantle GT’s batting.
Important win for MI
Pandya called the win special because it broke the team’s four-match losing streak.
“It’s always challenging to win away. Ahmedabad hasn’t been a good ground for us, so this win is very satisfying,” he said.
With this win, Mumbai Indians have moved up to seventh place in the points table. The team’s next match will be against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings on April 23.
