Chandigarh: In a key strategic move ahead of upcoming political engagements, the Haryana BJP has appointed party MLAs as in-charges for the 42 Assembly constituencies where the party faced defeat in the 2024 Assembly elections.
The decision was taken during a legislative party meeting held at Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s official residence in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
The meeting, chaired by CM Saini, focused on strengthening the party’s position in weak constituencies and reviewing the implementation of government schemes on the ground. MLAs appointed as in-charges will now oversee political activities, local issues, and party organization in these constituencies.

Notably, the list of in-charges includes Deputy Speaker Krishna Middha and 11 ministers Mahipal Dhanda, Ranbir Gangwa, Gaurav Gautam, Krishna Kumar Bedi, Krishna Lal Panwar, Shruti Chaudhary, Rajesh Nagar, Arvind Sharma, Vipul Goyal, Aarti Rao, and Rao Narbir Singh.
However, senior BJP leader and Cabinet Minister Anil Vij’s name was absent from the list, raising speculation within political circles about his role in the current party strategy.
According to party sources, all MLAs were notified on Sunday regarding the legislative party meeting. During the session, CM Saini held detailed discussions on the performance of both central and state government schemes and sought feedback from legislators on public sentiment at the grassroots level.
Several MLAs reportedly informed the Chief Minister that the recently conducted Common Eligibility Test (CET) for job aspirants had been well-received by the public and bolstered the government’s image.
The BJP is expected to roll out a constituency-specific outreach program in the coming months based on the inputs gathered during this meeting.
