A major incident shook the Haryana education department during the Class 10 board exams at a school in Julana. A peon posted at the examination center was found carrying answers to the question paper on his mobile phone, prompting immediate action by authorities.
Incident During Hindi Exam
The Class 10 Hindi exam, conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education, was underway on Saturday afternoon when the flying squad arrived at the centre around 3 p.m. for a surprise inspection.
The team noticed Surendra, a peon at the centre, carrying a mobile phone, which is strictly prohibited during exams. Upon checking the device, the squad discovered answers to the question paper code “D” in the phone’s gallery.
Complaint Filed and Police Action
The flying squad immediately informed the Centre Superintendent Rammehar, who filed a written complaint with the police. The complaint highlighted that the attempt to carry exam answers was a clear violation of board rules and an effort to breach examination secrecy.
Investigation Underway
The Julana Police, led by Station House Officer Vikram Joshan, seized the mobile phone and initiated an investigation. Authorities are probing how the answers reached the phone and whether any other individuals were involved.
The accused peon, Surendra, is currently under interrogation, and police have registered a case under relevant legal sections related to exam malpractice.
Education Department Responds
The Haryana Board of School Education has stated that strict measures are being taken to prevent such breaches in future exams. The board reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining examination integrity and warned of severe action against anyone attempting to violate the rules.
