Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said the state government is committed to improving the quality of education in government schools and strengthening educational infrastructure across the state.
Chairing a review meeting of the School Education Department, the Chief Minister announced that 150 government schools will get new buildings, with their design and construction based on best practices adopted by leading states and reputed educational institutions. Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda was also present at the meeting.
150 New School Buildings to Be Developed
CM Saini said the government would consider expert guidance and successful models from across the country while constructing the new school buildings to provide students with a better learning environment.
The meeting also reviewed various schemes aimed at promoting quality and modern education, with a special focus on the development of 719 Model Schools, including Sansriti Model Schools, Chief Minister’s Early English and Excellence Schools, and PM-SHRI Schools.
Focus on Modern Infrastructure and Smart Learning
The Chief Minister directed officials to prioritise the development of essential infrastructure in government schools, including new buildings, additional classrooms, separate toilets, boundary walls, playgrounds, science and computer laboratories, digital labs, smart classrooms, libraries, modern furniture and tablets.
He also instructed the Finance and Education departments to ensure there is no shortage of funds and that all construction work is completed within the stipulated timeline.
AI-Based Learning and Digital Classrooms Planned
CM Saini said government schools in Haryana will be equipped with AI-based learning facilities, digital and smart classrooms, vocational education, advanced science and computer laboratories, and digital libraries.
He said the government’s objective is to provide students in government schools with high-quality education and modern facilities, enabling these institutions to emerge as centres of excellence. The Chief Minister added that the 150 new schools and 719 Model Schools would serve as benchmarks for other schools across the state.
He also directed officials to implement the plan in a time-bound manner to make Haryana one of the leading states in school education.
