A fire broke out in a waste warehouse in Shakti Nagar, near the Kabadi Road railway overbridge, around 5 a.m. on Wednesday. Initially, a short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire. The fire caused cracks in about 100 nearby houses and spread smoke throughout the area, causing inconvenience to local residents. Firefighters managed to control the fire after considerable effort.

Ramesh and Krishna said they woke up early Wednesday morning to smoke outside their house. Upon coming out, they discovered the warehouse was ablaze. District Fire Officer Gurmel Singh stated that the entire team arrived at the scene as soon as they received the information. The fire was brought under control after three hours of intense effort, but smoke is still rising from the waste.
