Due to the western disturbance, the weather has changed in Haryana. Today, that is, April 28, rainfall is possible in most parts of the state. The Meteorological Center in Chandigarh has indicated the possibility of thunderstorms with strong winds and rain in most parts of the state. The weather will be particularly more impactful in western and south-western Haryana.
An ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mahendragarh, and Rewari. Here, strong dusty winds blowing at a speed of 50-60 kilometers per hour and rainfall with thunder and lightning are likely.
The rest of Haryana, including Ambala, Karnal, Rohtak, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Sonipat, will remain under a ‘Yellow Alert’. Here, winds blowing at a speed of 40-50 km per hour and light to moderate rain are expected.
Relief expected by May 1
According to the weather department’s map, a yellow alert will still be in effect in the central and southern parts of the state on April 29. However, the weather will start clearing from April 30 and by May 1, the entire state will come into the ‘green zone’. As a result, people are expected to get complete relief from heat and dust-laden winds.
Know the maximum and minimum temperatures…
Faridabad was the hottest: There is currently a severe heat wave in the state. According to the data from April 27, Haryana’s average maximum temperature was recorded 3.3°C higher than normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Faridabad at 44.4°C. In addition, the mercury rose to 44.2°C in Rohtak and 43.4°C in Hisar.
However, due to rain and strong winds in the next 24 to 48 hours, a drop of 2 to 3 degrees in maximum temperature may be recorded, providing some relief from the scorching afternoon heat.
Clouds make nights hot too: In Haryana, not only the days but also the nights have started getting hot. There has certainly been an average drop of 1.6°C in minimum temperatures compared to the day before yesterday, but it is still 1.7°C above normal. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 20.3°C in Yamunanagar, while in Bhiwani the night temperature reached 30.5°C, which is quite high.
In the coming days, due to rainfall activities, a slight drop in night temperatures is also likely.
