The Haryana government has changed the timings of schools across the state in view of the increasing cold. From November 15, all government and private schools will open at 9:30 am and close at 3:30 pm. Earlier, these timings were from 8 am to 2:30 pm. The education department has issued instructions to all schools to strictly follow them.
Changes in school timings too
According to the Directorate of School Education, schools with double shifts will now have:
First shift: from 7:55 am to 12:30 pm
Second shift: from 12:40 pm to 5:15 pm
Earlier, the first shift used to start at 7 am.
Action will be taken if they do not comply.
A letter issued by the Block Education Officer of Narnaul said that the new timings will be mandatory for all government and non-government schools from November 15 to February 15. If any complaint is received or a surprise inspection reveals violation of the orders, departmental action will be taken against the school principal.
All schools closed in Jind due to pollution
The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Jind was recorded at 418, which falls in the ‘severe’ category. In view of this situation, District Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Imran Raza has ordered all government and private schools in the district to remain closed till further notice.
Hybrid mode for primary classes in Gurugram
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar has ordered primary classes (up to grade 5) to be run in hybrid mode due to rising pollution levels. Children will now be able to attend online or offline classes as per the convenience of their parents.
