Narnaul: After several days of October heat, Haryana is likely to see a change in weather conditions. The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain at several places in the state between October 8 and October 13.

A warning has been issued for Thursday, October 8, for Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Karnal. These districts may experience thunderstorms and strong winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph.

The weather change is also likely to bring down daytime temperatures in areas that receive rain, making mornings and evenings more pleasant.

Rain and Strong Winds Alert in 5 Districts

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is possible at some places in Panchkula and Yamunanagar on October 8. Isolated areas of Ambala, Kurukshetra and Karnal may also receive light to moderate rain.

Thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds are likely in these areas. The department has warned of winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Karnal.

Panchkula also witnessed hail during Tuesday evening as the weather began to change.

Rain Likely to Continue Until October 13

The weather system is expected to remain active over parts of Haryana in the coming days. Light to moderate rain is likely at different places in the state through October 13.

On October 8, thunderstorms and strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph are possible. On October 9 and 10, some areas may experience thunderstorms along with winds of 30 to 40 kmph.

The IMD’s local forecast for Kurukshetra also indicates spells of rain or thundershowers along with thunderstorm and strong-wind warnings during October 8-10.

Hisar Records Highest Temperature

Despite the expected weather change, temperatures remained high across Haryana on Wednesday.

The state’s average maximum temperature fell by 0.3 degrees Celsius compared with Tuesday, although it remained close to normal. Hisar recorded the highest temperature in the state at 37.5 degrees Celsius.

Narnaul recorded a maximum temperature of 37.0 degrees Celsius, while Mahendragarh recorded 36.8 degrees, Sirsa 36.4 degrees and Nuh 36.3 degrees.

Other maximum temperatures recorded on Wednesday were 36.2 degrees in Faridabad, 35.7 in Bhiwani, 35.5 in Jind, 35.4 in Bawal and Palwal, 34.5 in Jhajjar, 34.2 in Karnal, 34.0 in Panipat, 33.9 in Fatehabad, 33.8 in Gurugram, 33.5 in Kaithal, 33.3 in Rohtak, 33.2 in Ambala, 33.0 in Kurukshetra, 32.4 in Sonipat and 31.8 degrees in Panchkula.

Rain May Bring Relief From October Heat

The expected rainfall could bring some relief from the persistent daytime heat. Temperatures are likely to fall in areas that receive rain, while morning and evening weather may become more comfortable.

The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms and strong winds. People working outdoors and in fields have been advised to move to a safe shelter if weather conditions deteriorate.
