Hisar: The southwest monsoon is expected to regain strength in Haryana from July 28, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a Yellow Alert for Panchkula, Ambala and Yamunanagar on July 27. While weather conditions will remain mostly dry across western and central Haryana over the next two days, scattered light rain is likely in the northeastern districts and parts of the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to the IMD, monsoon activity will increase from the night of July 27, with widespread rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds expected across the state on July 28 and 29.
Yellow Alert for Three Districts; Orange Alert from July 28
Cloud cover is expected to increase across Haryana on Sunday, with light to moderate rain likely in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra. Light, scattered showers are also possible in Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh and Palwal.
The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for Panchkula, Ambala and Yamunanagar on July 27. From July 28 and 29, an Orange Alert will be in effect for Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Kaithal, where heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning are expected.
Most Parts of Haryana Likely to Receive Rain
The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall over northern and south-eastern Haryana on July 28, while July 29 is expected to witness widespread rainfall covering 75–100% of the state. The renewed monsoon activity is likely to bring relief from the humid conditions that have prevailed after rainfall reduced over the past few days.
Bhiwani Hottest, Narnaul Records Coolest Night
With rainfall remaining subdued, Haryana’s average maximum temperature rose slightly by 0.6°C. Bhiwani recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.5°C, followed by Ambala (35.0°C), Hisar (34.9°C) and Narnaul (34.0°C).
Night temperatures also increased marginally by 0.4°C, although Narnaul remained the coolest with a minimum temperature of 24.5°C. The IMD expects temperatures and humidity levels to ease once widespread rainfall resumes from July 28.
