In view of these conditions of COVID, the restrictions have been extended by the government till 31 March 2026. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has extended these restrictions till next year using the powers received under sections 2,1,3 and 4 of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.

Additional Secretary of the Health Department Sudhir Rajpal has issued orders in this regard. These orders state that this step has been taken to protect public health during the epidemic, prevent the spread of the disease and ensure effective treatment of infected persons. The travel history of all patients coming from outside will be investigated.

The Health Department has planned to set up special teams for screening international passengers. These teams will screen the passengers and take samples immediately if symptoms appear. A dozen COVID-19 testing centers have been activated to speed up the testing process.

Apart from this, hospitals have been instructed to ensure the availability of beds, oxygen and other medical facilities for fresh Covid patients.
