71 thousand rupees cheated from a person in Panipat; Bank details taken on the pretext of installing app in phone

A total of 71 thousand rupees were withdrawn from a person’s account in four different transactions in Panipat. The incident took place in Nain village. The victim, Sheeshpal told that he lives alone and is less educated. He has an account in Gramin Bank, where he used to save his earnings.

He had recently bought a phone. Since he did not know how to use the phone, he asked a young man from the locality for help in installing Google Pay. The young man took Sheeshpal’s bank account number and ATM details and installed Google Pay in his phone.

A few days later, when Sheeshpal checked his phone messages, he found out that a total of 71 thousand rupees had been withdrawn from his account from four different places. The victim first complained to the bank. The bank officials advised him to complain to the police. After this, Sheeshpal lodged a complaint at Matlauda police station. The police have registered a case of fraud and started investigation.
