ACB action as Police middleman arrested in Haryana: Sub-inspector had demanded 1 lakh bribe

Hisar: Haryana, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) team has arrested a police middleman while taking a bribe of Rs 70,000. He was taking bribe for a sub-inspector posted at Hisar police station.

The sub-inspector had demanded Rs 1 lakh from a person by threatening to implicate him in a drug smuggling case. After receiving a complaint, the ACB set up a trap. Sub-inspector Mahendra Singh himself did not come to take the bribe and sent middleman Jilhe Singh.

A case has been registered against the sub-inspector and his middleman under the Corruption Act. The ACB team is investigating whether he has taken a bribe for the sub-inspector or other policemen before or not.

An ACB spokesperson said that sub-inspector Mahendra Singh posted at HTM police station threatened to implicate a person in a drug smuggling case. In exchange for avoiding this, a bribe of Rs 1 lakh was demanded from him. The person did not want to give bribe, so he complained about it to the ACB.

After which ACB laid a trap and planned to catch the sub-inspector red handed. As per the planned trap, the person called the sub inspector on the pretext of giving bribe.

However, the sub-inspector arranged for his protection, and instead of coming himself to take the bribe, he sent a middleman. As soon as Jile Singh took 70 thousand rupees, the ACB team caught him.

After this, a case was registered against the middleman and the sub-inspector. However, the sub-inspector is still out of arrest. The ACB team is searching for him.
