Chandigarh: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has called a cabinet meeting tomorrow (23 January). The date of the budget session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly will be decided in this meeting. Assembly elections are to be held in Delhi on February 5, in view of this, the budget session of the Haryana Assembly is likely to be called in the second week of February.
Chief Minister Nayab Saini is not only holding continuous meetings with various sections regarding the budget, but for the first time, the Finance Department has also sought online suggestions from the general public in various categories. Good suggestions will be included in the budget. Many important decisions will be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held at 11 am in the main assembly room on the fourth floor of Haryana Civil Secretariat Chandigarh.
This is the first time in Haryana that online suggestions are being taken from the people regarding the budget. So far about 2500 to 3000 suggestions have been received. The government is especially focusing on women’s empowerment, in which the views of women associated with Lakhpati Didi Yojana are also being included.
The government has also started a portal for the budget-making process, through which common citizens can give their suggestions. Chief Minister Saini has made it clear that the government will also give importance to the suggestions of the opposition and MLAs.
Lado Laxmi Yojana may get a green signal in the meeting, under which women of the state will be given Rs 2100 every month. Apart from this, the government can announce compensation for the damage caused to crops due to hailstorm in the past days. Also, a decision can be taken at the government level on the elections of 34 local bodies.
