Two teenage girls drowned in a pond in Mahavir Park in Ambala City on Tuesday. This incident happened around 12 noon. The girls who lost their lives were identified as 17-year-old Anjali, a resident of Shivpuri Colony in Sultanpur, and 17-year-old Jasmine, a resident of Barnauli in Punjab.
At the time of the incident, many people were strolling in the park.
On hearing the screams, the police rushed to the spot and, after a lot of effort, they were taken out and brought to the city’s civil hospital, where doctors declared both of them dead.
Mahavir Park is located in the middle of the city near Agrasen Chowk. There are boats for boating in this park, but boating has not started yet.
Both girls were doing a telecourse in Harten in the city. They had come to the park after attending classes from 9 to 11 in the morning.
