International boxer and Arjuna Awardee Sweety Bora has lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police (SP) against her husband, Arjuna Awardee wrestler Deepak Hooda, for dowry harassment and assault. Sweety has also filed an application in the court for divorce and alimony. On the other hand, Deepak Hooda has also filed a complaint with the Rohtak police, accusing her of usurping property and threatening to kill him.
Sweety Bora said in her complaint that she was married to Rohtak resident Deepak Hooda on July 7, 2022. Her parents had spent Rs 1 crore on the wedding. She alleged that recently Deepak and his sister demanded a Fortuner car from her and pressured her to quit the sport.
Sweety said that Deepak had demanded Rs 1 crore from her while contesting in the Meham assembly elections. In October 2024, Deepak allegedly assaulted her and threw her out of the house. He has filed a divorce and alimony petition in court and demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh per month.
Deepak Hooda accuses of property usurpation
Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda said in a complaint to Rohtak police that his father-in-law kept cheating him on the pretext of giving money on interest. He told that a plot bought in Sector 1-4 of Hisar was fraudulently registered in his and Sweety’s name. Deepak also alleged that he was promised Rs 25 lakh on interest, but he did not get that amount. He also said that Sweety repeatedly threatened divorce.
Hisar and Rohtak police have issued notices to both parties and called them for clarification. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police has started investigating the complaints of both the parties.
