Yamuna Nagar Scandal: Head Clerk among three arrests in Rs 12 Crore Fake Bills Scam

Haryana: As the police investigation into the case of a scam in the Electricity Corporation is progressing, new layers are also being revealed.

Police have now arrested head clerk Kunwar Bahadur Singh resident of Jammu Colony and two clerk cum linemen Ashok Kumar Indira Garden and Praveen Kumar Bahadurpur in this case. All three were produced in the court from where Kunwar Bahadur (KB Singh) got four days remand and the other two got two days remand. In this case, earlier Kulwant Singh and billing clerk Rajbir Singh lineman, Balveer and firm employee Sanjeev were arrested and are in jail. In this way, the police have arrested a total of seven accused in this case so far.

DSP Abhilaksh Joshi said that the firm SB Road Line located on Sasauli Road had the contract for the work of the Electricity Corporation. This firm used to take the contract of the work related to the Electricity Corporation. On examining the records of the years 2021-22 and 2022-23 available in the district office and sub-division office, it was found by the Electricity Corporation that SB Road Line had submitted fake bills in the division’s office. The complicity of some employees of the office was also revealed in this, after which a case was registered on the complaint of Executive Engineer Division Pawan Narula. After that SIT was formed in the case. Investigation has revealed that the accused used to prepare the bills fraudulently. After investigation, the scam had increased from two crores one lakh 28 thousand rupees to Rs 12 crore. The names of many people are involved in this.

It is believed that more accused may get involved in the scam of Rs 12 crore on the basis of fake bills. In this regard, the police has already interrogated the SDO and JE of the Electricity Corporation. On the basis of that, other accused are going to be punished soon. On the other hand, DSP Abhilaksh Joshi said that others who are involved in this matter will also not be spared.
