Big action against drugs: 117 kg of Ganja seized in ​​Sonipat, drug smuggler arrested

The team of Special Anti Gangster Unit, Sector-7 has arrested a drug smuggler travelling in a Scorpio car from near Peer Baba near Rohana flyover with 117 kg of ganja. The arrested accused is Rakesh, a resident of Rohana village. The police will present the accused in the court and take him on remand.

Inspector Ajay Dhankhar, in-charge of the Special Anti Gangster Unit, said that SI Krishna, who was part of his team, was patrolling with ASI Pawan Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Krishna and Praveen. The team was present near the Sampla Bypass Baroana Road flyover on National Highway-334B. They received information that Rakesh alias Jaildar, a resident of Rohana village, is standing with his car near Peer Baba on the flyover near his village.

There is a consignment of drugs in his car. He has been involved in drug smuggling earlier as well. On which the police team immediately reached the spot and raided. Along with arresting Rakesh, the police took the car into custody. The police gave a notice to the accused and asked him to search. When the accused asked to be searched in front of a gazetted officer, the Deputy Commissioner’s office was contacted. On that, Kharkhoda Tehsildar Manoj Kumar was sent as duty magistrate from the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

When the search was conducted in front of him, seven thousand rupees and a mobile were found with Rakesh. After that, when the car was searched, 57 packets were recovered from it. Which were filled with ganja. 117.57 kg of ganja was recovered from the packets. The police arrested the accused. A case has been registered against him in Kharkhoda police station. The police team is interrogating the accused. The accused will be produced in the court and taken on remand.
