Gurugram: A cement-filled canter suddenly caught fire in front of Sultanpur lake in Gurugram on Saturday morning. This incident happened on the Gurugram-Pataudi road. The driver was driving the truck towards Pataudi. The truck was completely burned in this accident. Luckily, the driver saved his life by jumping from the truck in time. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire.

Driver Jagdish said that he was going towards Pataudi after loading cement from Gurugram. At around 4 am, smoke suddenly started coming out from the bonnet of the truck. Initially, he thought it was a minor technical fault, but when the smoke started getting thicker, he immediately stopped the truck on the side of the road.

As soon as the truck was stopped, flames started rising from the bonnet. Realizing the situation, Jagdish immediately jumped out of the truck and saved his life. Soon, the fire engulfed the entire truck, and in a few minutes, the canter started burning fiercely.

The fire brigade team arrived from Gurugram

The people nearby immediately informed the police and the fire brigade. The fire brigade vehicle from Sector 37 fire station reached the spot, and after a lot of effort, the fire was controlled. The fire brigade employees said that the fire was so fierce that most of the truck was burnt to ashes. Extra care had to be taken to extinguish the fire as it was filled with cement. After the fire was extinguished, only the structure of the truck was left, and all the goods were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is not clear

Efforts are being made to find out the cause of the fire. Prima facie, it is believed that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit or some other technical fault in the truck. The statement of the driver Jagdish has been recorded, in which he said that the truck was regularly serviced, but there was no indication of any technical fault. The truck owner has also been contacted so that the vehicle’s maintenance and other documents can be checked.

There was less traffic in the morning

Due to this accident, traffic on Gurugram Pataudi Road was affected for some time, but the police and fire brigade personnel soon brought the situation back to normal. Driver Jagdish’s presence of mind and the fire brigade’s speed averted a major loss.
