Central government rejected demand of Haryana government to provide houses to the poor: Dr. Sushil Gupta

Chandigarh: State President of Aam Aadmi Party, Dr. Sushil Gupta cornered the Khattar government on the issue of not providing housing to the poor. He said that the Khattar government in Haryana has failed to provide houses to the poor.

The central government rejected the state government’s demand to provide houses to 40 thousand poor people for the second consecutive year. 40 thousand homeless are only in figures, apart from this there are lakhs of families in Haryana who are completely homeless who did not get any benefit from the housing scheme of the BJP government.

He said that 1 lakh 68 thousand people applied in Haryana under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme, about 3 lakh people registered on the portal. But till date the BJP government has not succeeded in giving even a single flat and plot. Haryana Government demanded 20-20 thousand houses from the Central Government continuously in 2022-23 and 2023-24. But the Central Government rejected the demand of the Haryana Government outright both the times.

He said that showing the dream of providing houses to the poor proved to be just a statement. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party demands the Haryana government to stop making statements and provide houses to the poor who are waiting to get houses. So that the homeless poor people can have a roof over their heads.

He said that the Khattar government has always committed atrocities against the poor and destitute people. In the last 9 years, not a single scheme of the Khattar government has come to fruition. In such a situation, the Central Government is committing atrocities on the poor people by not providing them the benefits of the housing scheme.
