Haryana CM issues ultimatum of 1 week to DGP to curb crime surge

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Naib Saini has given strict instructions to the Director General of Police (DGP) on crime in Haryana. In the review meeting of the Home Department, the CM bluntly said that Haryana Police has 7 days to put a brake on the crime rate. During this time, they should put a brake on the gangster network.

He said that after a week, he would review the crime rate by holding a second meeting of the police department. Along with this, the CM directed the senior police officers to improve law and order by keeping better surveillance in the field. No stone should be left unturned in the campaign against gangsters and vicious criminals in the state.

In the meeting, the CM also took a tough stand on other incidents of crime, including ransom, and said that the presence of police in the field should be such that it creates fear in the criminals and they do not come out due to fear.

While giving instructions to the police officers, the Chief Minister said that senior police officers should meet the victims in cases of crime so that the public’s trust in the police increases further. Also, to further improve the image of the police among the general public, even the smallest information should be taken with the utmost seriousness, and immediate action should be taken.

While instructing the police officers to discharge their duties faithfully, the Chief Minister said that strict action should be taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade in the entire state. The process of confiscating the property of drug dealers should be expedited.

While giving instructions to the Director General of Police, the Chief Minister said that seminars should be organized for the civil society, including colleges, to inform the young generation, including common citizens, about the three new laws implemented under the Indian Penal Code.
