CID uncovers illegal mining in 14 Haryana districts: Orders issued to halt activities

Chandigarh: Illegal mining is going on in 14 districts of Haryana. The areas of illegal mining come under 55 police stations. The state CID has sent input to the mining department in this regard. After this, the Director General of the Mining Department has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioners of 7 districts placed in the high zone.

In this, they have been asked to take strict action to stop mining. These districts include Palwal, Faridabad, Nuh, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Yamunanagar and Charkhi Dadri.

The most serious situation regarding mining is in Nuh and Yamunanagar. Illegal mining is happening in the areas of 8 police stations each here. After this, illegal mining is being done in the areas of 5 police stations of Gurugram.

The mining department divided the districts zone wise

After receiving inputs from the CID, the mining department has divided the districts into zones in terms of illegal mining. The districts placed in the high zone include Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mahendragarh-Narnaul, Gurugram, Nuh, Faridabad and Palwal.

Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panchkula and Ambala are in the medium zone. Whereas Hisar, Fatehabad, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Jind, Sirsa and Rewari districts are in the low zone.

Accordingly, separate enforcement wings have been created in the police in the districts. A DSP and 2 inspectors have been posted at the mining department headquarters to coordinate with the police.

Complaints of illegal mining were also being received with the connivance of officers at the district level. After this, teams are being sent from the headquarters for surprise inspection. In a similar case, the assistant mining engineer of Yamunanagar has also been transferred to the headquarters. No officer or employee involved in illegal mining will be spared.

More Strictness is being exercised in sensitive districts. More strictness is being exercised in sensitive districts. To stop illegal mining in Yamuna Nagar, 16 checkpoints have been set up. These include employees of police, mining, enforcement and other departments. In Narnaul, the employees and officers of the mining department, police, forest, pollution, RTA, sales tax and enforcement departments are monitoring day and night to stop illegal mining.

3. 575 vehicles involved in illegal mining were caught, Rs. 2.5 crore fine was collected

A special campaign was launched from January to stop illegal mining. In this, 13,282 places were inspected at the district level. In this, 575 vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized. At the same time, a fine of about Rs. 2.5 crore was collected.
