Rapist sentences to 20 years in Panipat

Panipat: The court in Panipat district of Haryana has sentenced the accused to rape a 13-year-old girl. The accused, about two and a half years ago, kidnapped the teenager from a colony in the Kila police station area with the intention of marriage and raped her.

Deputy District Attorney Kuldeep Dhul said that the court has sentenced the accused, Neeraj, to 20 years of imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the accused. If the fine is not paid, the accused will have to serve an additional three years in jail.

In a complaint given to the Kila police station on January 10, 2022, a woman said that she was a resident of a colony in the police station area.

She is the mother of four children, including her second daughter. His age is about 13 years old. On January 7, at around 11 a.m., she was playing outside the house. After this, she did not return home. After a long time, she was searched in many places, but she was not found. She also inquired about the neighbourhood, but nothing was found.

The police had registered a case of kidnapping in the matter. After this, her search started. During the search, the girl was recovered by the police on January 21. The girl was given CWC counseling. In which the girl said that Neeraj, a resident of Dabur Colony, had raped her several times.

After that, the police added 376 (2N), 342 IPC, and 6 POCSO Act to the already-registered case. On January 22, the police arrested the accused.

He told the police that he had kidnapped the girl, intending to marry her.

However, he did not have any age-related documents, so he did not marry. They used to roam around during the day, while at night they used to sleep in an empty shop. It was there that he raped the girl.
