Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim granted 21-day furlough

Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a 20-year sentence in the Sunaria jail of Rohtak in Haryana in a rape and murder case, has once again come out of jail. He has got 21 days furlough. During this time, Ram Rahim will stay in Sirsa Dera for the entire 21 days.

On Wednesday morning around 6:30 am, he was taken to Sirsa from the jail amid tight security. From here, Ram Rahim released a video and said- “I am once again present in the service of the devotees. Everyone should stay in their homes and do whatever the responsible people of the Dera say.”

Ram Rahim will attend the 77th celebration of the foundation day of the Dera. Dera Sacha Sauda was founded on 29 April 1948 by Saint Shah Mastana. Ram Rahim has got furlough to attend this.

Earlier, he came out of jail on 28 January 2025 on a 30-day parole. Then he spent 10 days of parole in Sirsa Dera and 20 days in Barnawa, UP.

On 25 August 2017, Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the sexual exploitation case of 2 sadhvis. After this, on 17 January 2019, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case. At the same time, in October 2021, the CBI court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the murder case of Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

Three years after getting the sentence, Ram Rahim was acquitted by the High Court in this case. Right now Ram Rahim is lodged in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail. He has come out 12 times so far by taking parole and furlough from here. This is the 13th time Ram Rahim has come out of jail.
