The municipal corporation elections in Rohtak district of Haryana are going to be announced on Tuesday. The date of voting will be announced by the Election Commission, after which the election code of conduct will be imposed in the Rohtak Municipal Corporation area.
Let us tell you that after the formation of Rohtak Municipal Corporation, once again the SC category has been reserved for the mayor. Earlier in 2013, the post of Mayor was reserved for the SC category, in which Renu Dabla from Congress won the election. In 2025, the mayor will again be from the SC category.
11 out of 22 wards of Rohtak Corporation reserved
There are 22 wards in the municipal corporation area, out of which 11 wards have been reserved. The list of 11 reserved wards was released through draw on 23 December 2024. Of these, wards 2,3,4,5 are reserved for Scheduled Castes, wards 8, 18, 21 for BC-A and B. At the same time, wards 6, 10, 14 and 22 were reserved for women of general category.
These wards will remain unreserved
After the draw conducted by the administration, the unreserved wards include wards 1, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20. Out of 22 wards, 8 wards are reserved for women, including wards 3 and 4 for Scheduled Caste women, ward 18 for BC A women and ward 8 for BC B women. Four wards are reserved for unreserved women.
