Shop employee commits suicide in Palwal

Palwal: An employee working at an electronic shop in Palwal, Haryana, committed suicide. Before dying, he sent a message to his wife on his mobile. In the message, he accused the shop owner of beating, harassing, threatening to kill, and insulting him with casteist words. The city police station has registered a case against the shop owner under various sections. The body of the employee was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.

According to Palwal City Police Station in-charge Rajesh Kumar, Priyanka, a resident of Gopalgarh village in Bharatpur district (Rajasthan), has said in her complaint that her husband Ravi was working at MD Electronics shop in Palwal for about one and a half years making music systems and speaker covers. He used to live in the room of the shop owner, Vishnudutt. Ravi had borrowed one lakh rupees from Vishnudutt, which he was gradually repaying by working.

Vishnudutt had been harassing her husband for the last 20 days and used to call and threaten her as well. The accused used to beat her husband repeatedly, threaten to kill him and insult him by using casteist words. On the night of July 10, Ravi sent a message on her mobile phone that the harassment by the shop owner, Vishnudutt, was increasing. He insults her by abusing her.

The shopkeeper is threatening to beat him if he does not give him money. He is unable to bear it. On July 11, her husband Ravi, troubled by Vishnudutt’s harassment, committed suicide by hanging himself in the room. Her brother-in-law, Ajay, also lives in Palwal. Ajay also told him about Ravi’s suicide.

It was said in the complaint that the shop owner forced Ravi to commit suicide. The strictest action should be taken against him. The city police station has started action by registering a case against the shop owner based on the complaint. The police say that the matter is being investigated. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused, and he will be arrested soon.
