ATO’s assistant arrest taking bribe in Faridabad

Faridabad: In the Faridabad district of Haryana, the ACB team has arrested the aide of Assistant Taxation Officer Ashok Kumar Meena red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakh. It is being told that the accused demanded a bribe due to a deficiency in the income tax return.

According to the information received from the sources, the complainant, Tarun Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar Arora, a resident of Bali Nagar Palwal, had complained to the ACB that due to the defects in the income tax return, a bribe of Rs 7 lakh was being demanded. Based on whose complaint, the first installment of Rs 3 lakh was taken by the ATO’s henchman from under the Prithla bridge on National Highway number 19.

The ACB team reached the spot and arrested the accused red-handed.

On whose information, ATO Ashok Kumar Meena was taken into custody from the income tax office located at NIT number 4 late on Monday evening and taken with them for questioning. At present, no confirmation has been made by the ACB team in this matter. The entire matter will be revealed after official confirmation.
