Faridabad Gangrape: Teen gang raped repeatedly, forced to undergo abortion

Faridabad : A case of brutality against a minor has come to light from Faridabad, Haryana. The police here said on Friday that a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three people. When she became pregnant, the accused forced her to abort. He said that three people have been arrested in the case.

Abortion of the teenager after rape

According to the police, they had received a complaint from Pradeep Kumar from the Child Helpline of the District Child Protection Unit in Faridabad, in which it was told that a teenager was raped and then her abortion was done. Kumar said in his complaint that he received a call from two NGOs – Shakti Vahini and Srishti Sanstha on Tuesday regarding this incident.

On receiving the information, Kumar met the victim, who told him that she begs on the roadside to feed her alcoholic father and her younger brother. Police said that about three months ago, she was searching for her younger brother when one of the accused, who was an auto-rickshaw driver and often gave her food, asked her to get into his vehicle and promised to help her find her brother.

Accused threatened to kill her

“The victim revealed that he took her to his room where he and his accomplices raped her multiple times. They threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it,” Kumar told police.

The rape victim’s neighbour also raped her multiple times after giving her food and tea. Kumar said that on January 6, a woman came to the girl’s house and told her that one of the accused had called her. Kumar said in his complaint that the woman gave some food to the victim, after which she fainted. When she woke up a few hours later, the accused gave her a papaya, a shawl and a jacket. Case registered under relevant sections. Kumar told the police that the woman and the auto driver called the victim home and forced her to get an abortion. Following this, her condition deteriorated and the matter reached the child helpline through an NGO. Based on his complaint, an FIR was registered under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code. Police said that all the three accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.
