FIR against 2 farmers for burning stubble in Rohtak; Location found from Harsac

Rohtak: A case has been registered against 2 farmers who burnt paddy residue in Khedi Sadh village of Rohtak. The village-level monitoring team found stubble burnt in their fields. The location of this was received from Harsac. Agriculture Department officer Sandeep Hooda complained of burning paddy residue at IMT police station in Rohtak.

It was said in the complaint that burning of residue left after harvesting of paddy has been banned. Regarding this, a village level joint team (farmer/patwari/gram secretary) has been formed as per the order of Deputy Agriculture Director Rohtak.

The location of the fire was received from Harsac on 20 November. After this, while inspecting the fields, the village-level monitoring team found that 2 farmers had burnt paddy residue in their fields.

Farmers who burnt paddy have been named as Praveen and Subhash, residents of village Khedi Sadh. In the preliminary investigation, the farmer has violated the rules. A complaint was lodged against them at the police station. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against both farmers under various sections including Air and Pollution Control Act.
